Experience Narrative:

Practitioner and client entering a shop. Standing in a queue waiting to be served and the practitioner drops a multipack of crisps while the client watches on next to them. They will observe the queue and the people in the vicinity.

Belief to be tested:

If I drop something, others will see and judge me negatively. They will stare and tut and huff. They might start talking bad about me to others in the queue. Rejected

Alternative Perspective:

If I drop something others won't bother, they won't care or judge me negatively.

Safety Behaviours to drop:

Avoiding eye contact with the queue. Rushing the experiment. Avoiding looking at what the practitioner is doing. Apologising for the hold up.

Client reflections:

Client noticed that no one cared. Someone offered to pick up the packet and place it on the conveyor belt. They gathered the facts that people were not rejecting of the situation or the hold up.

Practitioner reflections:

Pleased that someone came in to help pick the item up for me.
