Experience Narrative:

You feel compelled to wash your hands repeatedly after touching objects perceived as dirty. Choose an object with low/medium/high intensity of disturbance. Using a log sheet track the disturbance over time, 100 most, 0 least disturbance.

Belief to be tested:

If I don't wash my hands multiple times, I'll contract a serious illness.

Alternative Perspective:

Washing hands once thoroughly is sufficient to maintain hygiene and prevent illness.

Safety Behaviours to drop:

Multiple consecutive handwashing sessions. Using excessive amounts of soap or sanitizer. Avoiding touching objects to prevent the need to wash
