Young person is to put their hand up in class to answer a question with a feeling of over 50% certainty that they know the answer. This class is a favourite lesson
If I answer a question other people will judge me negatively, especially if I get it wrong
If I answer a question, other people will not care if I get it right or wrong and nothing bad will happen
avoiding putting hand up talking in a really quiet voice
yp did the experiment and got the answer correct, they report feeling braver in class and will test this out in other lessons which are less favourite.
Noted improvements in lesson, now to build more confidence and to tolerate more uncertainty. If yp gets an answer wrong, some other people can be unkind and take the mick, how can they manage this should it happen?
